Program

You will learn about the key research and clinical advances on intestinal microbiota and gastro-intestinal health, presented at the 30th Annual UEGW congress.

This dynamic webinar is hosted by 3 well-renowned gastroenterologists who will attend the UEGW 2022 congress and will share their key take-aways from the main sessions and presented posters.

 

Prof. Simrén summarizes the key sessions and abstracts concerning FGIDs and especially the advances in irritable bowel syndrome treatment. Prof. Ianiro focuses on the new information about the role of microbiota in health and diseases, including the ways of modulating it, like fecal microbiota transplantation or probiotics. Prof. Kupčinskas will finish the session with updates on Helicobacter pylori eradication strategies.

About the speakers

Prof. Magnus Simrén

Professor of gastroenterology, University of Gothenburg (Gothenburg, Sweden)

Magnus Simrén is Professor of Gastroenterology at the University of Gothenburg and Senior Consultant at the Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Gothenburg, Sweden. His clinical and research focus is on functional gastrointestinal disorders with a particular interest in diet and gut microbiota. He is also currently the Secretary General of United European Gastroenterology.

 

Prof. Gianluca Ianiro

Adjunct Professor in Gastroenterology at the Catholic University of Rome and Consultant at the Gastroenterology Unit of the Fondazione Policlinico Universitario “A. Gemelli” IRCCS (Rome, Italy)

Gianluca Ianiro is currently a gastroenterologist at the Digestive Disease Center of the Fondazione A. Gemelli IRCCS and adjunct professor in gastroenterology at the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Rome, Italy. His research focuses on clinical and translational studies on intestinal microbiota.

Prof. Juozas Kupčinskas

MD, PhD, Head of Gastroenterology Department and Dean of Postgraduate Study Center, Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (Kaunas, Lithuania)

Prof Juozas Kupcinskas currently heads the gastroenterology department in the Lithuanian University of health Sciences in Kaunas, Lithuania, where he’s also the Dean of Postgraduate Study Center and a Senior Researcher at the Institute for Digestive Research. His research focuses on molecular biomarkers, H. pylori, IBD, microscopic colitis, microbiome profiling of inflammatory gastrointestinal diseases, fecal microbiome transplantation.
