The impact of probiotics in IBS management

Not all probiotic strains are the same, their efficacy against certain conditions must be supported by clinical evidence. Professor Sabaté illustrates this by the history of one of his patients and make the parallel with the latest clinical evidence supporting the benefits of B. longum 35624 in all types of IBS, regardless of its severity.

Program

Before going into the details of his clinical case, Pr. Jean-Marc Sabaté first reminds the basics of Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS): the mechanisms of the pathology, how it is managed today, and finally the impact of microbiota in the pathophysiology of IBS.

Then he dives into his clinical case illustrating the importance of microbiota in IBS management using probiotics. After presenting the history of his patient, he explains the patient journey that led her to the use of B. longum 35624.

He detailed the different clinical studies that convinced him to give B. longum 35624 to his patient and finished by going through the latest clinical study published on B. longum 35624 that describes the improvement on severity and quality of life in patients suffering from IBS.
