Prof. Miguel A. Valdovinos is the Head of the Neurogastroenterology and Motility Unit at “Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Médicas y Nutrición Salvador Zubirán" (Mexico City, Mexico). He is also a Professor of Gastroenterology and Gastrointestinal Motility at the National Autonomous University of Mexico; a public research University considered the largest University in Latin America and has one of the biggest campuses in the world. Prof Valdovinos is the Director of Training Center of the City of Mexico for the World Gastroenterology Organization.

Prof. Miguel A. Valdovinos is a specialist in Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, Endoscopy and Gastrointestinal Motility. He is the Head of the Laboratory of Gastrointestinal Motility at “Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Médicas y Nutrición Salvador Zubirán" (Mexico City, Mexico). He is also a Professor of Gastroenterology and Gastrointestinal Motility at the National Autonomous University of Mexico; a public research University considered the largest University in Latin America with one of the biggest campuses in the world. Prof Valdovinos is the Director of Training Center of the City of Mexico for the World Gastroenterology Organization and a member of the National Academy of Medicine of Mexico. He is a former President of the Mexican Association of Gastroenterology (2014) and founder and past president of the Mexican Association of Neurogastroenterology and Motility.

 

He was a member of the education committee of the American Gastroenterological Association, the World Organization of Gastroenterology and a member of clinical parameters committee of the American College of Gastroenterology. He is an active member of several national and international scientific societies.

 

Prof. Valdovinos’ research interests are gastroesophageal reflux disease and functional disorders of the digestive tract. He has authored more than 120 scientific articles and 10 books in gastroenterology. He was Head Editor of the Journal of Gastroenterology of Mexico, international reviewer of the Journal of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and he is international editor of The American Journal of Gastroenterology.

 

Prof. Valdovinos has been recently awarded as Master of The Panamerican Gastroenterology by the Panamerican Gastroenterology Organization (OPGE).
